AIAMB 1996 Honor Award for Design Excellence
Called “Little Wave” for its unique forms, this award winning design for a residence fronting on Monterey Bay cleverly makes the most out of tight lot constraints. Located in an eclectic neighborhood of tiny, 44-foot wide lots with adjacent houses crowding close, this house takes advantage of the views while maintaining privacy. A radical remodel and addition to an existing one-story traditional cottage, light filled spaces, warm finishes, and whimsical details characterize the interior of this small gem. Wave-like forms echo throughout, culminating in the sweeping arc of a balcony that reaches toward the bay and Lover’s Point beyond.
